At Lekkerz, we are two Muslim brothers, first-generation Australians, who grew up savoring the rich, savory taste of South African biltong. Our passion for this traditional snack, rooted in our childhood memories, inspired us to bring the authentic flavors of our heritage to Australia. Facing challenges in finding halal biltong that matched our high standards, we set out to create our own. Lekkerz combines the time-honored essence of South African biltong with the quality of halal-certified, Premium Aussie beef. Our mission is to deliver a product that not only honors our roots but also provides a delicious and authentic taste experience for everyone to enjoy.

Who We Supply To

Driven by our active lifestyle, we also struggled to find a high-protein snack suitable for the gym—low in carbs, calories, and preservatives—that didn’t compromise on taste. Recognizing the need for a nutritious, flavorful option, we crafted Lekkerz to be the perfect companion for fight nights, fishing trips, hiking, hunting, or simply enjoying a steak in your pocket. Initially, we shared our products only with close family and friends, but the enthusiastic response led us to expand. Each bite of Lekkerz Biltong is infused with freshly toasted spices and our unique in-house blends, creating a snack that’s as beneficial as it is delicious.

Are your products Halal?

Yes, all Lekkerz Biltong products and ingredients are 100% halal. We have also undergone halal certification and authorisation through the relevant recognised halal certifying body in Australia, ensuring our products and processes meet the required halal standards.

How long does the biltong last?

Our Lekkerz Biltong now has a shelf life of up to 12 months when unopened and stored properly, with no refrigeration required.

Thanks to our new packaging technology, we use nitrogen gas flushing together with an oxygen absorber to help reduce oxygen inside the pack, protect freshness and maintain the quality of our biltong for longer.

Once opened, our biltong can continue to be enjoyed for some time when kept under suitable storage conditions. For the best quality and freshness, keep the pack sealed between servings and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

What spice blend do you use?
